Occupation

EMT/Health & Wellness Coach/BLS Instructor

Fun Fact

In my free time, I love to spend time with my four-legged family members. And I am always trying to learn and acquire new skills, whether it's in emergency medicine (I'm an AHA BLS and Stop the Bleed instructor!) or integrative health (I'm a health & wellness coach also!). I am a creative and artistic person at heart, with a love for photography, hand embroidery, and other crafts and art mediums. I also have skills in web development and graphic design. I also have a deep passion for martial arts and have even taught kickboxing and self-defense workshops to the community. I love to volunteer and be a part of the community, and you can often find me helping out at events around like the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, the Filipino Festival, and various conventions (total Anime nerd).

Past Experience

My journey in public service began early. For five years, I served as a security officer at a mall. It was one of my first jobs, but it taught me invaluable lessons in customer service, public safety, crime prevention, incident mediation, and emergency response. I have almost a decade of experience as an EMT on a non-profit ambulance agency. This work has given me a front-row seat to the challenges communities faces and has taught me the importance of being prepared, responsive, and compassionate under pressure. My job duties included responding to 911 calls throughout various cities and providing critical inter-facility care and transportation. As part of the agency's education committee, I also worked to train and improve the skills of my fellow first responders. My commitment to public service extends far beyond my professional life. For 19 years, I have volunteered as a committee member and secretary advisor for a local Boy Scout, Venturing group: Venturing Emergency Rescue Team, Crew 911. This work has allowed me to mentor and empower the next generation of leaders, instilling in them the importance of community, service, and environmental stewardship. I've also served as the president of the MSU Denver Club Taekwondo for two years. During that time, I led the club out of a financial deficit and into a positive standing, demonstrating my ability to manage resources and lead a team with accountability. This experience taught me how to turn a passion into a sustainable, successful organization. These experiences—from serving on the front lines in security and emergency medicine to mentoring youth and leading a university club—are the foundation of my perspective. They have given me a unique understanding of our community's needs and the hands-on experience required for an elected role to serve people in the Lakewood Council.

My Top Issues

Properly fund emergency services

I have experienced firsthand how a lack of police training and accountability erodes public trust. I will champion policies that prioritize de-escalation training and community engagement to ensure our police force is a supportive presence. Furthermore, I will advocate to expand the Community Response Team program, providing more jobs for Paramedics/EMTs and ensuring our community receives the care it deserves.

Develop new green spaces and community gardens

Open space, parks and tree canopy offers not only a lot of benefits to the city but it's also a place for people's mental health and wellbeing. Community gardens can also help the community get together and address food disparities.

Transparent Accountability

I will demand greater transparency in our city government's finances and hold developers accountable by advocating for stricter zoning setbacks and requiring them to pay their fair share for infrastructure upgrades.
