Habitat for Humanity is a great organization that helps to provide affordable housing and I have volunteered my time to work them on the houses in Marysville. I also volunteer with the Humane Society to foster animals that need extra attention before adoption.

My Top Issues
Balance development with neighborhood preservation
The City will need to support preservation of our older neighborhoods to help maintain our small-town feeling. We have implemented programs to help homeowners make improvements in these areas. We need to continue to promote these programs to help homeowners maintain and improve their homes in existing neighborhoods.
Implementing sound financial management practices to maintain balanced budgets
I have always been very conservative on financial issues, working to balance our budget and reduce costs. I have identified improvements in processes and planning that have resulted in saving millions of dollars for our taxpayers. I have a strong position on requiring developers to pay for the actual cost of infrastructure impact, leading the effort to resist their requests to pay less than their fair share.
Investing in park maintenance and improvement
Our parks are used by residents of all ages, and I have worked hard to improve our parks with better park facilities and maintenance. Trail connectivity is important to me as well and we must continue our efforts to improve this.
