My Top Issues
Infrastructure / Transportation
Our infrastructure needs are increasing. There must be a plan in place to ensure that city residents' municipal needs are not compromised by Council decisions on land annexations.
Criminal Justice / Public Safety
Prioritize the basic needs of people and address root causes of crime to ensure all residents have a decent quality of life. As we hear more and more stories about gun violence and young people bringing weapons to school, we must be open and honest to understand why this is happening and find solutions.
Environment / Energy
Prioritize smart development that sustains our natural environment.
Environment / Energy
When making decisions and directing staff, we must think about the future and mitigate hazards to protect wildlife and our natural environment. We not only must be good stewards of the environment, but also be good neighbors to surrounding cities.
Housing
Prioritize creating a variety of housing options for low and middle income individuals and families, as well as first generation college students. Housing prices in Durham have reached unattainable levels for both low and middle income individuals and families, resulting in people being pushed out of the city.
