Job description
The Police District Council brings police officers and Chicago residents together to plan, prioritize, and build mutual trust; strengthen the police accountability system; give Chicagoans a meaningful new role in oversight; and explore and advance alternative effective approaches to public safety.
Eligibility requirements
Candidate must be a qualified elector of the municipality. Must have 1 year of residency in the municipality, and the respective district that they are running for, preceding the election. Must not be in arrears in payment of tax or other indebtedness due to the municipality. Must not have been convicted of an infamous crime, bribery, perjury or other felony. Must not have been an employee of the Department, Independent Police Review Authority, COPA, or the Police Board in any of the three years immediately preceding the date on which their term begins.
