Eligibility requirements
No person receiving any compensation as an officer or employee of the City of Portsmouth: 1. Shall continue in such position after the canvass of the vote following being elected to office as a School Board member or City Councilor of the City of Portsmouth; 2. Shall engage in any political campaigns and activities during his/her hours of City employment. No City Councilor or School Board member shall hold any other municipal office. No member of the City Council, School Board, Fire Commission or Police Commission shallapply for or become an employee of the City until the expiration of the term for which that person was elected to office.
