The County Executive is the chief executive officer of the county. The executive is generally given full responsibility for the total operation of all departments in the county.
Eligibility requirements
At the time of nomination or appointment and throughout the term of office, each County Legislature shall be a duly qualified elector of the legislative district from which he or she is elected. A County Legislature shall not hold any other salaried elective public office during his or her tenure.
