Job description

The City Clerk/Ward Officer serves as the official keeper of the municipal records. This joint position is also responsible for presenting the agenda and minutes for legislative and committee meetings.

Eligibility requirements

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age by the time of election, a resident of the city/village for at least 1 year immediately prior to election, and a registered voter in the city/village. Candidate must not hold any other public office except as a notary or state militia member.

Requirement for independent party candidates is based on number of votes cast in last general election for governor: if < 5000, 25 or a number = 5% of the vote (whichever is less); if > 5000, number = 1% of the vote.
